What is SGS? SGS is the world's leading inspection, verification, testing, and certification company. When a product is SGS-tested, it means an independent, globally recognized laboratory has tested it against specific safety standards — not just the manufacturer's word.

What we tested for: Our chopsticks were independently tested across three reports. SGS confirmed the metal is genuine 316 stainless steel, and separately tested the black SPS resin handle… Intertek tested the steel tips for lead and antimony under Japan's Food Sanitation Law — both not detected.

    What does "food-grade" mean? Food-grade materials are those suitable for contact with food and beverages under normal use.

    Our chopsticks are made from 316 marine-grade stainless steel — the same grade used in marine, pharmaceutical, and food processing equipment. It contains molybdenum, which gives it superior corrosion resistance compared to standard 304 stainless steel, especially with salty and acidic foods.

    Will it rust or corrode? 316 marine-grade stainless steel is highly resistant to rust and corrosion, even with acidic foods and daily dishwasher use.

    Is it dishwasher safe?
    Yes, our standard chopsticks and flatware rests are dishwasher safe. Our 24K gold-plated chopsticks should be hand-washed to preserve the finish.

    How is Radiko different from budget stainless chopsticks? Many budget options use 304 steel or don't specify a grade. Radiko chopsticks use 316 marine-grade steel tips, independently tested by SGS and Intertek, and we share the reports.

    What is the handle made of? Japanese Idemitsu SPS resin, a heat-resistant engineering plastic. The black handle was tested by SGS: no lead, cadmium, or phthalates detected, and no change after heat testing at 482°F (250°C).
